The Hulk

Last night before work I went to see The Hulk. Despite the horror at the idea of seat allocations I went anyway and was pleasantly surprised. I, choosing to sit in the front of the cinema knowing most people like to sit back and centre got so absorbed I didn't feel any of my neck or eye muscles straining.

I approached this film with slight hesitation because of Edward Norton being cast in the role of The Hulk but also drawn to it for this fact. I had become a fan of Mr Nortons when I first watched Fight Club and then saw 25th hour. Both amazing films.

Anyway, I am not a film critic and wouldn't know how to explain what I felt in words, my vocabulary not stretching very far unfortunately. But I will say this- Edward was perfect for this role, completely convincing. The parque (is that the word for thatextreme scaling of walls ect?) scenes in Brazil with the American military after him were great! A side note-I would not like to live in Brazil, those houses look frightfully precarious balanced on top of one another!. With the first part of the movie set in Brazil giving it a more earthy feel and made it somehow more believable. Not that you want a comic book film to be real, but combine the two elements of reality which evokes human emotion and fantasy which lets the emotions and imagination run wild you will get an absorbing and satifying mixture.

Edward isn't your typical pinup guy, but when there's the close-up of him at his lap-top he is at that moment! Intense blue eyes seen through dark brows and that haircut!
Liv Tyler is the Divine luminous beauty that tames the beast. With her wide eyes and pouty mouth. She's also a believable scientist. His enemy is her dad the General Ross who's after Bruce's blood(literally). Bruce is pursued by him and his military drones along with a super soldier Blosky(Tim Roth). Blosky becomes a super-duper soldier with an injection(is there any other way?) and becomes The Hulks nemesis. He's a scary thing, and would definitely give children nightmares! He's bigger than the Hulk and has some kind of exoskeleton thing happening.

All in all it was a good film, and I am glad I went not withstanding the seat allotment. I didn't notice because Edward was there entertaining me. There is a cameo by the original Hulk who looks quite fantastic and also a little suggestion there is going to be a team-up with Robert Downey Junior's Iron Man- so watch out! Robert Downey Junior also looking damn fantastic. Love these older actor
